MISSION:

MACC Lit’s mission is to see Christ-centered renewal in our community through promoting a culture of literacy, community education, and healthy families.

MACC Lit walks with our neighbors and empowers families through education. We counter the world view that people are assigned worth based on their income, education, and status. Rather, to advance God's Kingdom, MACC Lit tells the story of justice and equality through the genuine demonstration of God's love and the inherent truth that all people have equal value, purpose, and worth.

PROGRAMS:

MACC Lit is an educational supplement program designed to empower youth and support their families in their educational endeavors. With a comprehensive approach encompassing in-school support, after-school tutoring, summer camps, and youth development activities, MACC Lit aims to create engaging, fun, and conducive learning environments for participants. We’ve expanded our programming to include remote learning opportunities. We continue to attract and retain a wonderful crew of qualified volunteer tutors equipped to work with students “on-screen” and deliver a quality learning experience.

Tutoring

For more information or to pre-register for In-Person and Online Tutoring please complete the form and we will be in touch soon.

How does virtual tutoring work? Tutors use single or multi-screen technology to work with students on Zoom. Prior to each teaching session, the Director of Education and Assistant Program Manager provide tutors with a curriculum carefully selected for the individual needs of the student. Tutors target fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary to help strengthen these areas and achieve higher levels of growth.
