MACC Development Announces Edythe Ford as New Executive Director

Longtime Detroiter and community advocate to lead next chapter of neighborhood-based work in 48214

MACC Development is proud to announce the appointment of Edythe Ford as its new Executive Director.

A lifelong Detroiter, Ford has been deeply engaged in community work for over two decades as an activist, mentor, and neighborhood leader.

After a national search that drew strong candidates from across the country, Ford emerged as the clear choice to lead MACC Development into its next chapter. Her appointment reflects both her proven commitment to Detroit’s east side and her ability to inspire collaboration, growth, and faith-driven service.

Ford currently serves at MACC Development and will now bring her experience and passion to a broader leadership role, guiding the organization as it continues its mission to promote the holistic revitalization of Detroit’s 48214 community—block by block and neighbor by neighbor.

“Edythe has been a pillar in this community for years,” said Pastor Leon Stevenson, founding Board Member of MACC Development. “Her deep relationships, integrity, and commitment to Detroit make her the perfect leader to carry MACC’s vision forward.”

“It’s an honor to lead an organization I believe in so deeply,” said Edythe Ford. “I’ve seen firsthand the power of what happens when neighbors come together. This role allows me to amplify that work and help ensure every family in 48214 has access to opportunity, dignity, and hope.”

Founded in 2010, MACC Development is a faith-based nonprofit serving Detroit’s 48214 zip code through initiatives in housing, education, and economic development. The organization’s work continues to center on empowering residents and restoring hope through practical, community-led solutions.

With Edythe Ford at the helm, MACC Development steps confidently into its next chapter—renewing our promise to 48214 with energy, excellence, and hope. We celebrate this leadership transition and invite neighbors, partners, and supporters to join us in the work ahead.
