Property Tax Canvassers
Detroit, MI // Part Time – Temporary (MAy – august)
MACC Development is a Christian community development corporation committed the holistic revitalization of Detroit’s 48214 community, block by block, neighbor by neighbor. We exist to see the gospel advanced and to promote the dignity, value, and worth of every resident. MACC Development is looking for Canvassers for the “Neighbor to Neighbor” Foreclosure Prevention program.
Canvassers will be going door to door providing resources and informing homeowners and renters on steps they can take to help them avoid foreclosure on their homes. Canvassers will be paid $15.00/hr and can expect to work 10 – 25 hours per week beginning in May for 6 – 8 weeks. We pay bi-weekly by check only and require all canvassers to complete a W-9 prior to beginning canvassing and timesheet prior to payment.
Canvassers report directly to the Director of Community Engagement.
Qualifications
MUST, have a current Android or Apple smartphone with unlimited mobile data. Data collected must be uploaded in the field, in real time.
Proficient with using mobile apps, cell phones, and taking clear and precise pictures with your cell phone.
Not afraid to knock on doors and speak to the public.
Be prepared for extensive walking and climbing steps.
Comfortable visiting homes at risk of foreclosure in the 48214 & 48213 zip codes.
Must attend all orientations and training meetings. Canvassers will be paid to attend trainings and orientations.
